The talk by Dr. Bernd Röder of the Stadtmuseum Simeonstift Trier and Ulrike Degen, curator of the exhibition Vu Lilien a Linnen. Jugendstil, Handwierk a Konscht zu Lëtzebuerg, was recorded and is now available online.
Between the Zens Frères ceramic painting workshop in Echternach and later in the capital of the Grand Duchy, and competing companies such as Villeroy & Boch in Mettlach and Septfontaines, the Utzschneider & Jaunez faience factories in Wasserbillig and Sarreguemines, the Ehrang-based firm Lamberty, Servais & Co., and the Hasselt ceramic factory, more than artistic ideas were exchanged. Around 1900, employees also moved between these businesses, carrying valuable expertise and know-how with them. Dr. Bernd Röder of the Stadtmuseum Simeonstift Trier and Ulrike Degen, curator of the exhibition Vu Lilien a Linnen, explore this fascinating story through a series of concrete examples.
