On the third weekend of May, the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart joins over 36 museums across the Grand Duchy for the Luxembourg Museum Days. An open-doors weekend celebrating the richness and diversity of Luxembourg's museum heritage.

Two days. 36 museums. One country to discover.

Come and visit us free of charge in the heart of Luxembourg's historic old town, and let thousands of years of archaeology, history, and art tell their stories. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning friend, our collections and family-friendly programming have something for everyone.

A national celebration of culture

The Luxembourg Museum Days are organised each year by ICOM Luxembourg as part of the International Museum Day initiative. In 2026, over 36 museums — large and small, from the capital to the furthest corners of the country — open their doors on the same weekend, free of charge for all.

The perfect occasion to explore, to compare, and to connect with what Luxembourg's museums have to offer.

At the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart

Nestled in the historic Marché-aux-Poissons district at the heart of Luxembourg City, the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart invites you on a journey through Luxembourg's long and layered history — from prehistoric times to the present day.

For this special weekend, the museum will offer a dedicated programme of guided tours, family workshops, and mediation activities designed for visitors of all ages.
