Alex Bodry’s talk, given on 24 September 2026 as part of the exhibition Vu Lilien a Linnen. Jugendstil, Handwierk a Konscht zu Lëtzebuerg, was recorded and is now available online.
It all began 28 years ago in Hamburg, with two small Art Nouveau vases bought on impulse. Through years of studying this international movement, browsing flea markets in France and Belgium and the occasional auction, Alex Bodry gradually built a collection that also led him to Luxembourg artists. In this talk in Luxembourgish, he shares his enthusiasm as a collector and what still fascinates him today: the remarkable diversity of Art Nouveau and the determination of its artists to break new ground.
The exhibition closed on 18 October. This recording is the perfect way to revisit Art Nouveau in Luxembourg, or to discover it for the first time.
