Talk

Since the early 2000s, Roland Schauls, who likes to refer to art history in his paintings, has regularly explored the work of Joseph Kutter. Just like Kutter, the human figure, especially the portrait, plays a central role in Schauls' work. His monumental work Portrait Society (1995-98), which has been hanging in the National Museum for several years, illustrates the artist's fascination with the portrait and in particular the self-portrait. In a conversation with the curator of the exhibition, Roland Schauls talks about the art of portraiture and the significance of Joseph Kutter's artistic life.

This talk will be in Luxembourgish.
